Everlasting Pajamas

Thrifting is usually my passion.. I'm usually on the hunt for bargains for my my four kiddos for clothing at all times.  Today wasn't any different! :)  My youngest, 16 month old, is a wee bit ahead of his size range 18-24 months BUT not quite 2T yet.

Today while browsing the clearance aisle at Old Navy I found two pairs of PJ's in 2T sizing for cheap (75% off!) knowing that they would be a bit too big.  Last year I found the same deal for my oldest and snapped them up.  I was so happy I did because I realized that if I buy big PJ's and hem them up they can last for two years instead of one. PJ's are always the hardest for me to pay full price for because, really, who ever sees them anyway!

So when I got home, I hemmed these two pair up quite easy, just flip them inside out, turn up the cuffs to the desired length and did one simple hem all the way around (no pinning, just eyeball it) and presto, PJ's for my little guy that will last two years (unless he jumps off the growth charts!) Next Fall come jammie time, I can rip apart the seam and they will be ready to go!

Cro-bot

While at the library browsing books the other day I came across a crochet book all about Crobots and thought this might be a fun one to whip up for the boys in my life.  This dear little guy is a Crobot-Beatbop (headphones)
Hardware is a bit difficult to see in photo, but his eyes are made of screws and also his mouth.

Alas, another Pinterest inspired craft! Pinterest, how I love thee, I could count thee ways..

Hobo Quilt (aka Circle of Life)

Quilts have always drawn me in but it wasn't until about 3 years ago I sat down and began to sew for the first time.  One of the first projects I jumped into was a quilt. Yes, you can! A friend so graciously offered to teach me to sew and quilt and it was a wonderful beginning; I learned so much in so little time. I have yet to make a quilt for myself because they are such a joy to make for those you love. This quilt I made for my sister.. my inspiration was this beautiful Asian-inspired quilt on Pinterest http://www.flickr.com/photos/treasureup/3256159334/:
What I love about quilting is that color and pattern can transform a quilt into many, many different expressions.

After a few exhaustive internet surfs I found the pattern here:
